Thanks to the lovely Kate from Travelmoon for this wonderful award. I feel truly honored. Kate's blog is filled with a great mix of fabulous travels, amazing photographs, stylish fashions and chic decor. And each visit to her blog is always full of surprises and inspirations.
And with this award, I am required to share 7 random facts about myself and pass along this award to 15 other blogs.
Fun facts about me:
1. For some unknown reason, most strangers think I am a teenager or someone in her early 20s. For example, when strangers knocked on our door, the first thing they asked when they see me is, "Are your parents home?" When I tell them I am the homeowner, they look puzzled, maybe thinking I was playing a prank on them or something. Some said they thought I looked 16. The other day while I was at the Banana Republic outlet applying for a credit card, a supervisor (I assumed) asked me how old I am. I felt slightly uncomfortable, so I asked her why. She then asked me if I was over 18 because only those above 18 years old can apply for a credit card. I told her I am definitely over 18 and I am already a mom. Her reply was,"You looked very young." Hmm...sometimes, I wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing. For anyone wondering, I just turned 31 this April.
2. I love watching comedies, thriller and horror movies.
3. I can walk for a few hours (even while heavily pregnant) but I can't run for 15 minutes straight.
4. I have never read a single romantic novel in my entire life. Perhaps I am too much of a tomboy to appreciate such stories.
5. I am obsessed with anything to do with birds. Bird nests, bird eggs, bird figurines and birds decor, etc.
6. I do not have a proper beauty routine but I do put on make-up when I go out. I don't use any cleansers, toner or whatnots. I don't even use any moisturizer until I met my husband years ago. He introduced it to me and I wear it mostly before applying makeup for easier application. Believe it or not, I have not had any facial treatments either.
7. I am afraid of the dark and I would start to imagine horrifying images when all lights were out. How ironic is it for someone who enjoys watching horror movies?
Hopefully, you enjoyed reading about the little quirky things about me. And now, I am passing the award to other fabulous blogs. And now, 'The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award' goes to:
1. Anya Adores
6. La-La Linh
7. A La Mode
10. Gold & Gray
12. BrideBlu

Thanks Jessie so much. I feel very honoured! That's great that you look so young. Gotta take that as a compliment! Image when you are 40 how happy you'll be when people will think you are only 30 years old. Hope you have a great weekend hon xx
ReplyDeletePeople always assume that I'm a teenager too, if not younger. Last week I confused a cab driver because she couldn't reconcile my vocabulary with my appearance:) I always take it as a compliment (of sorts), I mean women in our society have this huge stigma attached to aging in any way, so I may as well embrace it. And another bonus is that when telemarketers call, they always ask to speak to a parent and then I don't have to be rude by not wanting to answer their questions because I can just say that my parents aren't home right now:D These are all fun facts, Jessie; I love reading these kinds of things.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for passing this award on to me. It really means a lot to me coming from you:)
Happy weekend! xx

Love to know those fun things about you.
Have a nice weekend ♥
Sweet Jessie, Thank you so much for even thinking of me to bestow this recognition to me. So fun to learn a bit more about you. We have a couple of things in common. I too am fascinated by birds, love everything about them. In my 30s I was asked the same questions. Enjoy it!! Trust me on this. Now in my 60s I don't get asked those flattering questions any longer, go figure!? Have a wonderful weekend sweetie, xo Kathysue
ReplyDeleteThank you for passing on this award to me Jessie, I am honored. I have never read a romance novel or practice a beauty routine either. I am too much of a tomboy too :). Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jessie !! You are so sweet to think of me :) And people always think I am 16 or 18 too, and sometime even younger! I am not a mom yet but when I am, I am sure I will be looked at funny. I never know if I should take it as a compliment either, because its awkward when someone says something like that...I just want to look my age ! Ha. But it will pay off when we are older !

I used to make up the craziest things when in the dark.. I'd get myself so worked up (and still do now some times!)

Thank you for the award Jessie! I also thought you were in your early twenties from your picture. Lucky you darling to have such gorgeous skin to be mistaken for a 16 year old. Definitely a plus! You get mistaken for a 16 year old because of your young face, and I get mistaken for a kid when I'm on the phone because of my voice. :)
ReplyDeleteLIke your #7, I'm also afraid of the dark. I sleep with a nightlight (in the bathroom). :)
Thanks again!!!
Thank you so much Jessie, I'm flattered :))

Thanks for the very sweet introduction! I have the same issue with #1-people often mistake me for an 18 year old too!
