Happy blog anniversary?
Today marked another milestone for my blog. Mix And Chic turns three today!
Instead of feeling happy, I feel mentally exhausted. Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything but a lot of unhappy things happened to me recently and it made me wants to quit blogging altogether. If you are a regular reader, you will noticed that I don't post like I used to (at a specific time). To be honest, blogging seems like a chore to me now.
Perhaps a long blogging break is all I needed? Or having less posts in a week might help? I don't know. If you are a blogger and have been in a similar situation, what did you do to pick yourself up? Suggestions?
To all fans and supporters of Mix And Chic, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you, I wouldn't have come this far.
I enjoy your blog and although dont comment often wanted to tell you to do what you can and what feels right in your heart. A blogging break may help with goal and direction. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Anniversary, Jessie........
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your support for me.
Hey Jessie :) First, happy anniversary! And happy valentine's day too :) I know how you feel. That's what happened to me with La-La Linh....I got so incredibly busy with work and newly married life and just didn't have time for blogging anymore. My word of advice - do what makes you happy. If blogging makes you happy, maybe post a few days (instead of every day). I know your blog is all about design and decor but have you thought about branching out to other realms (like fashion, food...or even bits of your life)? And, if you just plain out need a break, then by all means, do that :) I think we all fully support you and when you're good and ready, come back to say hi.

Hang in there Jessie. We've all been there. Sometimes a break does a world of good. Happy anniversary! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jessie,
ReplyDeleteI think we have all felt this way from time to time. A good break may do the trick. After a one month break when I went to Italy though, I had a hard time coming back. I used to feel like I had to write a post daily, now I'd rather post better content and less frequently, or just less frequently. We are so busy with our lives and business we don't sit at the computer as much as we did when we first started. Do what YOU LOVE- that's most important, and if youre not inspired to post, that's ok..we all understand! Best wishes for some YOU time and all that is important to you and your family. xoxo Nancy
Hi Jessie,
ReplyDeleteI've never commented before either (sorry) but I just want to say I love your blog. Such high quality images - spaces I've not seen elsewhere. Your blog is always a welcome part of my day. But of course, we all need a break once in a while. I wish you the best!
Jen
Sorry to hear that you're struggling. Maybe a break is what you need? or like you said, posting less frequently? It's ok to give yourself a break and take it easy sometimes! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Jesse, I don't think I've ever commented before. First of all... happy blogiversary! Second. you have a gorgeous blog! I've long admired it! Third. There is never any need to apologize for posting or not posting. We all have our ups and downs and sometimes life becomes heavy and burnout is inevitable as things beyond our control start piling on... Oh, how I know. Please know... that in time... it'll pass and in it's wake you will be stronger and renewed and refreshed. (hard while you're going through it, though... ) xo, Laurel
ReplyDeleteSorry you're going through a rough time, I love your blog although I don't comment, I read it every day. I've seen a lot of bloggers posting less often lately, good luck with whatever you decide.
ReplyDeleteYou have to do what makes you happy, When blogging feels like a chore, I drop out for a while. Posts should be fun and inspiring about things you are passionate about. You know, we all 'go there' when we feel burned out. You will be much fresher to take a hiatus and come back with renewed perspective. Take care of you.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary and I'm so sorry you've had some bad things happen to get you down. We've all been through it, trust me. I went from 5 days a week blogging to 3 days last July and it really helped. The schedule is much more manageable.
ReplyDeleteGive me shout via e-mail if you'd like to chat about it. I've been there, really. carla@carlaaston.com
I love your blog and the fresh aesthetic it brings. Don't give up! We'd all miss you.
Oh Jessie...hang in there.... Ive been going through the same thing and I took a month off. I cut down to posting once a week....it really helped!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to Mix and Chic!
ReplyDeleteDon't lose heart. I am sure that your true followers will stay true and support you trough this hard time you're having. Go ahead, take a break. A month, or two, as much as you need. We will be here waiting and praying for you.
My advices on blogging: post not on schedule, but when inspiration strikes, take a guest post or two, and take social media breaks often.
Hope you get out from the rabbit hole.
Best wishes,
Domestic Cleaning Chelsea
Hello Jessie...sorry I am catching up on my reading and I wanted to say that you have brought so many ideas and talented people to read about thru your blog. You are so talented with your writing and helping me see things in a room I would have over looked. I know you encountered some tough times but know that your blog followers are with you all the way in your future decision with your blog. Your health and happiness is all that matters in life so you come first!!! Many mommy/bloggers put themselves second so breathe and sit back and take some time off.
ReplyDeleteI get it Jessie...I've struggled through slumps as well. I would be so sad to see you go so I really hope you keep at it. But I know how hard it gets to do sometimes, especially when you have to deal with the nasty side of blogging. I hope you are okay friend! And I sure do love your blog!! xo
